Aqua Lovebirds Decorative Soapstone Dish

Artisans in the highlands of western Kenya hand carve this sweet dish from soft kisii stone, also known as soapstone. Nairobi artisans hand dye to a bright aqua blue and etch with a sweet depiction two lovebirds standing beneath a red heart.

Sold singly. Because this is a handcrafted item, each will vary slightly.

About the Artisans:

Soapstone is mined in Kisii county in southwestern Kenya. We work with three different artisan groups in and around Nairobi who carve, polish and paint the stone to create beautiful pieces.
